The rapid pace of technological advancements demands that preparation for the career and life challenges of the future requires a strong foundation in computer and technology skills.

To ensure our students acquire such skills, Renaissance Academy incorporates technology into all aspects of our academic program. Students are made to feel comfortable using computers from a young age and technology instruction is integrated into all content areas. In addition to the integrated use of computers for other academic areas, specific computer lab time is used to teach students important computer skills such as word processing, spreadsheet development, database design, graphic/website design, and programming.

Interactive White Board (IWB) Technology
At Renaissance we strongly believe in using the latest technology and tools to promote learning. As part of this effort, we have installed an Interactive White Board (IWB) in the elementary math & science classroom. An IWB works by projecting and enlarging the image from a computer desktop onto a touch-receptive board. A wireless electronic pen is used to make the touch receptive board interactive. With an IWB’s capability to project the desktop, teachers are able to project video content, using the internet resource as teaching aid and do many more activities. As the popular saying goes, “a picture is worth thousand words”, a Graphical and interactive presentation of complex learning concepts can often aid children who benefit from varying teaching and learning styles.
