Competitions

Renaissance Academy puts equal emphasis on extra-curricular activities. Renaissance Royals participate and have won numerous recognition at regional, state and national level. Renaissance Academy holds its science fair competition on an annual basis. The winners proceed to compete in the Austin Energy Regional Science Festival. Juniors and Seniors who win place awards, advance to the ExxonMobil Texas Science and Engineering Fair. Renaissance Academy students participate in PSIA every year. PSIA remains the most comprehensive academic extracurricular program in the nation for students in grades 1-8. Renaissance Academy holds Quran competition at the school. The competitions are focused on three front, Tajweed, Recitation and Memorization. External judges are invited to judge the participants. In addition Renaissance Academy students also participate in Geography Bee, Math League, Spelling Bee, Arabic, Current Events League, Travis County Historical Essay Competition.

Austin Regional Science Festival

The Austin Energy Regional Science Festival (AERSF) is the one of the largest of 14 regional science fairs across Texas. It serves 23 Central Texas school districts and is one of only a few regional fairs that include elementary school students. The Austin Energy Regional Science Festival is an Intel ILISE-affiliated science competition that is held at the Palmer Events Center during February of every year.

ExxonMobil Texas Science and Engineering Fair

Juniors and Seniors who win place awards in The Austin Regional Science Festival advance to the ExxonMobil Texas Science and Engineering Fair. The state science fair is held in San Antonio at the Henry B. Gonzalez Convention Center during April of every year.

Private School Interscholastic Association (PSIA)

Renaissance Academy students participate in PSIA every year. PSIA provides an exciting opportunity for private school students in grades 1 through 8 to engage in academic competition with their peers throughout the state of Texas. Winners at the regional competitions proceed to compete at the state level competition held at the Texas Christian University in Fort Worth, Texas during May of every year.

Cen-tex History Fair

The LBJ Library sponsors the Cen-Tex Regional History Fair for Austin and the surrounding area. Students compete against their peers for the opportunity to advance to the Texas History Day state competition. From the state competition, students may advance to National History Day competition held in College Park, MD each June. Over the years, many Cen-Tex students have advanced and placed at the national level of competition.
