Preschool Staff

1- Ms. Delphine Phelps 

Pre-School Director / PK 4 Co-Lead Teacher 

Ms. Phelps brings along with her 20 years of experience working as a preschool Director in several well – established Preschools in the State of TX. She holds TX Preschool Director License.  She has years of teaching experience in the Preschool level teaching students ages 2-5. She was highly commended by all her previous employers. She is starting her 5th year with Renaissance Academy.  She led the Pre-School to earn a very distinguished TX Rising Star Accreditation with the highest possible ranking of 4 stars during the 2017-2018 academic year. Ms. Phelps served in one of the Primrose Preschool locations building the program from the ground up. She takes pride in establishing a very innovative program and increasing the preschool enrollment from 70 students to 175 students during her 5-year employment term with them. Ms. Phelps has successfully managed an after-school program in Austin for 2 years.   Between 1997 and 2007 Ms. Phelps was the Director of another franchise preschool program. She built the program from the ground up and successfully managed it for 10 years. She designed the rooms, researched age-appropriate curriculum for toddlers to five-year-old hired and trained the staff, and held special events. Ms. Phelps is well versed in the area of Early Childhood Education and staff training. She is very familiar with Texas Day Care and Preschool Licensing Standards of health, safety and curriculum expectations.

2- Ms. Tasneem Majeed: PK 4 Co-Lead Teacher 

Ms. Majeed joined us in the 2019 -2020 academic year. She has over 20 years of teaching experience in a wide range of grade levels 5 of which have been as a preschool teacher. Ms. Majeed is a CDA (Child Development Associate) Certified. She is trained in the areas of Age-Appropriate Curriculum, Teacher/ Child Interactions, Science in STEAM, Hazardous Materials in Childcare Settings, Lesson Planning and Effective Instruction. Additionally, she holds a diploma in Teacher Training.  She was applauded by many parents in her previous places of employment for being a caring, dedicated and child -loving teacher. We are happy to have her join our team and looking forward to seeing her enrich our program with her experience.

3- Ms. Ghazal Jbeily: PK 3 Lead Teacher 

Ms. Jbeily joined Renaissance Academy during the 2018-2019 academic year as a Prek-3 lead teacher. She has been in the field of education as a teacher of different age groups since 2005.  She is trained in the areas of Classroom Management, Building a Creative classroom, Lesson planning, Positive Re-enforcement, Child Development among many others. She holds a bachelor’s as well as a master’s degree from the Lebanese American University. In addition to her many talents and distinguished degrees, Ms. Jbeily is also a well-accomplished athlete. She was a National Record Holder and swimming champion in Lebanon between 1994 and 2006.  She was also a member of the Lebanese Olympic Swim Team which competed in Athens in 2004. Ms. Jbeily has a positive, energetic and cheerful personality making her a great fit for preschool. She excels in keeping the parents informed through her regular newsletters and other forms of communication.

4- Ms.  Drestilya Khisnawati: PK 2 Teacher Assistant:

Ms. Drestilya (otherwise known as Ms. D) joined Renaissance during the 2017-2018 academic year. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Japanese Language Education and taught Japanese Language courses in Indonesia.  Ms. D is very artistic, creative and detailed oriented. She enjoys doing hands-on activities and arts and crafts projects with the children. She contributes passionately to school events including performances among many others.

5- Ms. Amber Gray: PK 2 Teacher

Ms. Gray joined Renaissance Academy during the 2019-2020 academic year.  She is a very enthusiastic teacher. She holds a bachelor’s degree in Family and Child Development. She worked in multiple school and classroom settings from PreK – Elementary. She has experience as a special education classroom assistant tailoring instruction to the needs of students with special needs. Ms. Gray is currently enrolled in an EC -6 (Early Childhood -6th grade) Teacher Certification Program to be completed within a few months.
