Preschool Staff

Director / PK 4 Lead: Delphine Phelps

Ms. Phelps brings along with her 16 years of experience working as preschool Director in several well established Preschools in the State of TX. She holds TX Preschool Director License.  Ms. Phelps has years of teaching experience in the Preschool level teaching students ages 2-5.  Ms. Phelps was highly recommended by her references and all her previous employers we contacted.

Ms. Phelps served in one of the Prime Rose Preschool Locations building the program from the ground up. She takes pride in establishing a very innovative program and increasing the preschool enrollment from 70 students to 175 students during her 5 year employment term with them.

Ms. Phelps has successfully managed an after-school program in Austin for 2 years.   Between 1997 and 2007 Ms. Phelps was the Director of another franchise preschool program. She built the program from the ground up and successfully managed it for 10 years. She designed the rooms, researched age-appropriate curriculum for toddlers to five-year old, hired and trained the staff, and held special events.

Ms. Phelps is well versed in the area of Early Childhood Education and staff training. She is very familiar with Texas Day Care and Preschool Licensing Standards of health, safety and curriculum.

PK-4 Co-Lead Teacher: Zubia Khan

Ms. Zubia Khan is one of the most recent additions to the Pre-school team.  She Co-teaches the PK-4 Classroom along with Ms. Delphine. Ms. Zubia is multi talented and holds several degrees. She carries under her belt 9 years of teaching experience.  She obtained a bachelor’s of science in 2002 in addition to a bachelor’s in education in 2007. Prior to joining Renaissance, Ms. Zubia taught primary grades since 2002 in addition to managing an after-school daycare program.  Ms. Zubia also holds computer certification in office automation.

PK-2 Lead Teacher: Ms. Hannah Hassan

Ms. Hannah Hassan has been with Renaissance Academy since the 2014-2015 Academic year. She has served as an administrative assistant for her 1st year when she realized that she has the passion and qualifications to join the Preschool Team and work closely with young children. She has joined the preschool Team as a Perk- 2 Lead Teacher and in the fall of 2015. Ms. Hassan is CDA (Child Development Associate) certified. She has several years of experience working in daycare and preschool settings prior to joining Renaissance. Ms. Hannah is a talented, organized staff member with a sincere love for children.  She is very creative and has incredible artistic skills.  She is also a parent of two very bright Renaissance students.  She has served as the RAPTA (Renaissance Academy Parent Teacher Association) coordinator for one year during which she has organized a lot of school wide activities in addition to the school’s yearbook.

PK-3 Assistant Teacher: Ms. Sana Chughtai

Ms. Sana has been a part of Renaissance since the 2015-2016 academic year.  She is a very highly educated staff member. She holds a bachelor’s degree in computer science and IT. She has experience as a primary school teacher. Ms. Sana is CDA (Child Development Associate) certified. She has experience working with multiple age groups with a proven record of excellence, caring and compassion. She is also a parent of a Renaissance preschool student herself. 

Arabic/Islamic Studies: Ms. Rana Abadi

Ms. Rana Abadi has recently joined the Renaissance team of highly qualified instructors. She will be teaching Islamic Studies, Arabic and Quran to Preschool as well as Kindergarten.
Ms. Abadi is born and raised in the United States in her early years and spent a part of her adult life in Palestine where he pursued a career in Elementary Education. Ms. Abadi earned a Bachelor’s in Elementary Education from the Arab American University in Jenin, Palestine where she ranked 1st in her class. She is fully bilingual in English and Arabic and has extensive training in Quran and Tajweed. Her undergraduate program in Education is very unique. The program requires 2.5 years of extensive training in actual classroom environments before teaching candidates are granted their degrees.
Ms. Adadi received training in Classroom Management, Character Development , Effective Evaluation and Assessment , Critical Thinking , Conducive Learning Environments  , Creative Lesson planning, Technology Integration and Adaptive Instruction.  Ms. Abadi comes from a long line of Educators; her father held a position as an Islamic School Principal in the past and is currently the Dean of Faculty of Education at the Arab American University in Jenin, Palestine. We are very pleased to have Ms. Rana Abadi with us is year and are looking forward to a long term partnership.
